OKINAWA TRADITIONAL KARATE & KOBUDO AUSTRALIA (OTKKA) offers practical martial arts self-defence and traditional Okinawan weapons training for students who want to build confidence, discipline and lasting skill.
Meet your instructor
My martial arts experience began in 1981. I was trained by Shihan Richard Bradford 9th Dan (founder Goshin Ryu) Shotokan & Shaolin Double Dragon Kung Fu. Later in 2000, trained with Shihan Robert Slywa 7th Dan (Isshinryu & Ryukyu Kobudo), Founder Isshinryu Okinawa Grand Master Tatsuo Shimabuku, lineage Masters Angi Euzi (10th Dan) and Tyoshi Euchi (8th Dan). The Ryukyu Kobudo is of the lineage of Taira Shinken sensei.
In 2023, commenced Ryukonkai Karate & Kobudo (Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu), Founder Grandmaster Shoshin Nagamine, lineage Grand Master Kotaro Iha (10th Dan) and Kancho Mitsutada Iha (7th Dan).
I have lifetime membership of the Okinawan Isshinryu Karate Association (OIKA), Okinawan Isshinryu Traditional Karate & Kobudo Association (OITKKA), Okinawan Isshinryu Karate & Kobudo Association (OIKKA), Okinawan Karate Federation (OKF) and Australasian Federation of Traditional Karate & Kobudo (AFTKK).
I have Dan rank recognition of Sandan (3rd Dan) in Isshinryu Karate, Sandan (3rd Dan) Ryukyu Kobudo and Nidan (2nd Dan) Goshinryu/ Double Dragon Shotokan karate and Shodan (Ist Dan) Ryukonkai.
In addition, I hold NSW Level 1 MAIA Accredited Instructor, and NSW Licensed Weapons Permit & Instructor.
I offer martial art instruction by referral or by my invitation only.
